Nelson Zimmerman is an EGG-celent business owner and stocked with EGG-citing farm-fresh products!

After insulating barns for chickens, Nelson couldn't stop imagining the idea of starting a farm of his own. Wanting to move away from the construction field to a business that would allow him to work with his family, agriculture seemed like the ideal line of work. Before he knew it, the whole family was EGG-cited about the prospect of launching a business and launched operations in 2018. Between himself, his wife, and their four children, this family powerhouse, started vending in the fall, offering organic, free-range brown chicken eggs.

Over the years, their entire family has had an impact on growing their local business. Nelson especially appreciates customers who value the farm-to-table operation that markets like ours enable. “When shopping at your local farmers market you can meet the growers and actually talk to the producers. You can know where your food comes from and find comfort that it’s locally grown. In our case our eggs are much more fresh than the grocery stores which can be a month to two months old."

In addition to eggs, the Zimmermans also raise goats and farm some vegetables such as green beans, tomatoes and sprouts in the summer. Find Nelson and family in A-Shed from 7am-2pm every Saturday through April.
