@guppys_berry_farm is JAM packed full of berries! This family farm has been passed down from generation to generation and stayed in the Guppy family for over 100 years. Keeping tradition alive, owners and farmers Elaine & Karl Guppy vend with the CNY Regional Market just as Karl’s grandpa Harry and grandma Mildred Guppy did back when the Market first opened. 2009 is when the Guppy’s started to plant what would become the beautiful bushes full of blue. Elaine explained it can take 5+ years for the bushes to bear a substantial amount of fruit. Also growing strawberries, blackberries & three different varieties of raspberries, Elaine shares with us how busy it can get on the farm, “There’s always a couple of weeks when berry varieties are overlapping. It’s busy. There’s probably a month and half where everyone is picking from dawn till dusk. My brother’s family even comes to help during that time." Elaine shared with us her families favorite part of owning the berry farm is always having fresh berries in their kitchen during the berry season. Along with loyal customers who tend to line up at their booth, Elaine explains how much they appreciate them and their business.
