Guinta Produce
KALE YEAH, it's time for greens at the Market!
Owner of Guinta’s Produce, Norm Guinta’s great grandfather Peter Ciamano started selling at the Market when we opened in 1932. As an Italian immigrant, Peter came "right off the boat” with an agricultural background and passion for gardening and growing herbs. In 1973 the family opened their retail business at CNY Regional Market Authority and current owner Norm states he has been involved in the family business since he was seven years old.
Selling over 300 different items, Guinta’s Produce has everything from tomatoes, lemons, limes, peaches, and apples. Allowing customers a one-stop-shop, Norm shares having a variety is part of driving more business to the Market and why they have been so successful. Advocating for people to shop at the Market, Norm says it’s a nice way to spend the morning in a relaxed, open atmosphere that offers customers lower prices and fresher produce.
“We appreciate our customers to no end, taking the extra time to come down and support the vendors means a lot.”
Shop with Guinta’s every Saturday from 7am-2pm in A-Shed.

While speaking with Norm Guinta, owner of Guinta Produce, you can start to PEEL back the history of New York State agriculture as he has LAYERS of generational knowledge...kind of like an onion 🧅
"It all started in the back of Great Grandpa's Truck! THE YEAR WAS 1938 and my great grandfather, Peter Guinta, was one of the first vendors at the CNY Regional Market at its opening. He drove to several different New York State farms purchasing the finest fruits and vegetables then sold them to customers out of the back of his truck. It wasn’t long before his son and grandson became interested in the produce industry working together as a family business. When I was six years old, I distinctly remember going to the market spending my days learning about all of the behind–the-scenes operations necessary to run a produce company. Today I am proud to carry on the tradition of providing the finest quality produce for our customers. “Guinta Goodness” is more than just a phrase – it’s what our principles are based on-delivering only the best and making our customers happy. It is so rewarding to be able to go to work each day and truly enjoy what I do."
