There’s many great things about being a farm-kid shared Randy Daratt, owner of Daratt Farms and father to Lori Daratt. Kids come to the Market and they’re surrounded by a community of entrepreneurs who can share their business skills. “Early on when Lori was still in school, she’d bring friends with her to the Market so they could learn about business too. She actually started on her own at 12. One of our fellow vendors immediately offered to watch over her. Shortly after he admitted, ‘Actually she takes care of ME because she’s so good with customers and has quick math skills!'”

Now Lori’s all grown up and we’ll give her a huge shoutout here as she’s been working as a registered nurse throughout the entire pandemic. AND she’s still supporting her parents farm. Smiling, clearly proud, Randy shared, “She actually tells me the green house is a therapy. Eventually she’ll take it over, hopefully.”
