Find the BERRY best strawberries at Cottage Street Farm! Farming all of his life, owner of Cottage Street Farm Enrique Aguilera absolutely loves being a farmer.
Producing a little bit of everything, Cottage Street Farm brings cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, sweet cherries and more to the Market. Enrique honed in on his skills starting in Mexico, farming corn and beans and then helping out at other farms until he could afford his own. Enrique shares with us that farming strawberries takes a lot of love, from weeding to spraying and lots and lots of water - but that’s why his are so beautiful, putting in all of the work and time they require. In 2016, Enrique was ready to purchase his own farm. About 20 acres of land in Williamsville, Cottage Street Farm was born and Enrique got to work on making his land farmable and starting to purchase all of the equipment and tools he needed. It took around 2 years to finally see his farm’s produce come to fruition, now Enrique has been at the Market for 3 years and is proud to share with us that he has repeat customers. Enrique prides his team on treating his customers well, “They have my phone number so they can give me a call and request a certain amount of produce at the next Market, I want to make them happy.”
Enrique stresses that shopping at Farmer’s Markets results in fresher produce, and you know where your food is coming from. When you shop at the grocery store, you have no idea where it’s from or how long it’s been since it was harvested.
